Your role
As an Expert Lead Operations EU-US, you will play a key role in shaping our operational setup & processes for managing our Sea Freight shipments on the EU/US trade lane. Reporting to the VP Europe OPS, you will be responsible for the operational performances, team set-up, process compliance and continuous improvement of our operational processes.
You will
- Guide the operations teams handling the EU/US trade lane in several European countries (focus on DE/US in the initial phase)
- Be the subject matter expert involved in operational, compliance, and development topics related to the US
- Be accountable for ensuring the operational team meets its targets and KPIs
- Implement and maintain operational procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
- Ensure that all shipments are handled according to customer requirements and in compliance with relevant regulations
- Provide timely and accurate reports on the performance of the USA Trade Lane department
- Work with other departments to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational performance
- Ensure that all team members are trained and compliant with company policies and procedures
- Continuously review and optimise processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
What you bring
- +8 years experience in Sea-freight Operations on the EU/US trade lane
- Team management experience
- Knowledge of the operational (e.g. AMS, ISF, ACI, etc) and rate/compliance processes (e.g. NRA, FMC filing, US Customs, Cross-boarder move) pertaining to the US/North America trade lane
- Knowledge of rate structure and operational implications of applying different rates on the US Trade lane
- A data-oriented and orderly way of working
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A high degree of motivation and the ability to work in a dynamic and demanding team
- A proactive approach to work and analytical skills
- Fluent English
