Sea Freight Trade Manager (f/m/d)

Your role
Your Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- GP End-to-End Country Import & Export Gross Profit (GP): Drive and manage the overall (Gross) profitability of the country
- Growth: Supporting the sales team to achieve volume growth as per the budget, ensuring we meet and exceed our targets
- Carrier Policy: Implement and oversee import carrier policies within the country to optimise operations and define the export Carrier policy.
- Seafreight Pricing Strategy: Develop and execute pricing strategies, focusing on mark-ups to enhance profitability.
- Speed to Market: Ensure quick turnaround times for rates and quotations to maintain our competitive edge.
- Buying Rates Availability: Maintain and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for buying rates in our systems.
- Sales Support: Provide robust support to the sales team through joint visits, training, knowledge sharing and pipeline management.
- Contract Management & Rate Filing: Oversee the management of contracts and ensure accurate rate filing. (ocean & subcontractors Intermodal/Customs) and allocation management
- Market update: keep the team informed about the market
- Manage pipeline via Salesforce in close collaboration with the Country head to ensure that pipeline is sufficient (and qualified) for our growth ambitions
- Drive the digital evolution of our sea freight product together with various stakeholders
- Budget Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the GP import and export budget.
- Carrier policy: to define the country's export carriers' strategy, to execute and build the import carrier’s strategy in collaboration with the global trade team
- Define and implement the country pricing strategy.
- Team Meetings: Contribute to regular country team meetings to align strategies and goals.
- Carrier & Subcontractor Meetings: Participate in regular carrier meetings and business reviews to strengthen partnerships.
- Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team on key opportunities
What you bring
- Successful track record sea freight trade management, at least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding or similar environments.
- Proven ability to increase profitability and monitor financial performance.
- Very good understanding of the logistics market in NL as well as carrier policies and agreements.
- Relationship with Ocean carriers
- Expertise in creating solid and competitive seafreight pricing strategies.
- Excellent process and time management skills.
- Leadership skills and proven track of record in mentoring team members in sales and trade management.
