Senior Frontend/Fullstack Engineer (f/m/d) – Insights & Integrations

Your role
As a Frontend / Fullstack Engineer (f/m/d) in the Insights and Integrations team at Forto’s first Tech Hub in vibrant Istanbul, you will be in close collaboration with a highly competent team in Berlin, and be responsible for building and maintaining our customer-facing portal. This portal is our one-stop shop where we enable customers to effortlessly interact with our system, combining cutting-edge technology with intuitive design and user experience.
You will
- Play an instrumental role in the foundation of the Tech Hub, in close collaboration with our Berlin teams, while driving the cultivation of a robust engineering culture in Istanbul
- Cooperate with your team in developing a state-of-the-art portal to keep customers informed and up to date with everything happening to their shipments worldwide
- Design and provide functionalities that simplify shipment management, including actionability over shipment status changes, alerting, and notifications in different channels
- Explore and implement the latest advancements in frontend development, enhance user interfaces and work closely with our UI platform team
- Engage in various challenges, such as leading initiatives, collaborating with different teams and stakeholders, and documenting concise Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)
What you bring
- Strong skills in most of the frontend technologies we use: React, Javascript, Typescript
- Extra points for experience in backend technologies including but not limited to NodeJS, Elasticsearch, message queuing systems or Kubernetes, as we generally aim for well-rounded fullstack capabilities
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB); familiarity with big data processing platforms like BigQuery is highly desirable
- Experience with public cloud providers is welcome, especially AWS and GCP
- Proficiency in Git version control system
- Professional attitude towards software craftsmanship with a good understanding of different types of testing and why TDD is important
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
