About the role
Forto is hiring a Head of Sales (f/m/d) to lead our expansion in Central/West Germany – one of our most underpenetrated but highest-potential regions. Reporting to the SVP of Sales, this is a true builder role: you’ll establish Forto’s presence with the Mittelstand customer base, hire and coach a high-performing sales team, and create a repeatable engine of growth. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset – leading from the front while scaling a team to deliver lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities

Own the region: Full responsibility for building and scaling sales across Central/West Germany.

Build and lead a team: Hire, coach, and scale SDRs and Sales Managers; set a high bar for talent and performance.

Land first customers: lead from the front by landing initial accounts while shaping the playbook for the region.

Drive growth: Oversee prospecting, pipeline, and deal execution to deliver volume and GP targets.

Customer partnerships: Foster long-term relationships and expand accounts through upsell and cross-sell.

Cross-functional leadership: Partner with Operations and other teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Be in-market: Travel regularly to meet customers, prospects, and your team.
Required Skills and Experience

8+ years of B2B field sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding targets.

Strong leadership background – you’ve hired, built, and coached successful teams.

Freight forwarding experience is a must – you understand how the industry works.

Based in Central/West Germany (e.g. Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf) or Hamburg.

Entrepreneurial, resilient, and willing to get hands-on to establish the region.

Tech-curious – excited about how digital solutions are reshaping logistics.

Fluent in German and English.
