About the role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer (f/m/d) in the Shipment team, you will be crucial in visualizing complex logistics data and creating intuitive user experiences. You will transform backend data from carriers, aggregators, and terminals into accurate, interactive representations of physical hubs and the entire lifecycle of a cargo shipment. Your work will directly empower Forto end-customers, operations managers, and other Forto services by providing a seamless, insightful, and efficient interface.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, user-friendly frontend applications that display and interact with live tracking, customs data, and transport order lifecycles

  • Translate complex data into meaningful, actionable insights through engaging user interfaces and data visualizations

  • Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Software Engineers to define optimal UI/UX, API contracts, and contribute to the shared Forto UI Library.

  • Manage the entire frontend lifecycle of features related to transport orders, pre-carriage, and on-carriage steps, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation visibility for the user

  • Be a technical leader in the team, driving best practices in frontend architecture, performance optimization, accessibility, and testing

  • Be exposed to challenges, such as: leading engineering-wide initiatives, interacting with different teams and stakeholders, and writing concise Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) focused on frontend solutions and technology choices

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in frontend web technologies, demonstrating proficiency and a deep understanding of the frontend ecosystem across various product teams

  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate potential problems and plan for different stages of solution lifecycles

  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on engaging the right stakeholders, balancing diverse needs, and collaborating across engineering teams

  • A strong sense of motivation and commitment to long-term goals, paired with an eagerness for ongoing personal and professional development

  • Experience in Agile development practices and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
