Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d) – Pricing

Your Role
The Pricing team creates and manages pricing strategies, handles quotes, and provides essential tools for our specialists. They predict demand and adjust prices using AI, ensuring all rates are accurate throughout the shipment process. They also handle all customer promises and terms.
You Will
- Revolutionize global trade by owning key components of our software backbone.
- Tackle challenges such as leading engineering-wide initiatives, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, and writing concise Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
- Own the full cycle of designing, building, and maintaining scalable and highly available software.
- Build scalable and extensible event-driven microservice architectures, utilizing advanced patterns like CQRS and event sourcing.
- Continuously enhance existing systems, including refactoring critical components of our platform.
- Explore and implement cutting-edge software design patterns to address evolving domain challenges.
- Mentor and coach team members, leveraging your talents to foster team growth.
- Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives, collaborating with Product and Design teams to shape project execution.
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis).
- Professional software craftsmanship with solid TDD understanding.
- Expertise in large-scale architecture, event-driven microservices, and APIs.
- Deep understanding of sync vs. async communication and platform impact.
- Hands-on experience with distributed backend apps, focusing on consistency, quality, latency, and availability.
- Proficient in DDD, microservices, and backend tech (NodeJS, Typescript, MongoDB, Kubernetes).
- Familiar with cloud providers (AWS, GCP preferred).
- Collaborative, team-oriented, with critical product thinking and ownership mindset.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
